Semiya Pudding

Ingredients

Semiya/vermicilli - 1 cup

Ghee - 1 tbsp

Milk - 2 1/2 cup

Egg - 2

Sugar - 1 cup

Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp

Cherry a few


Directions

Heat the ghee in a heavy bottomed non-stick pan over medium heat and add seviya and fry till golden brown, stirring constantly. Add milk into it and bring it to boil. The semiya/vermicilli will cook in the milk. Remove from the fire and cool to room temperature.

Beat the eggs. Add sugar and cardamom powder and beat well. Add cooked semiya in to it and mix well. Pour it in the vessel in which ghee has been applied. Cover the vessel and steam it. Remove from fire. Allow it to cool. Refrigerate and serve chilled. Decorete it with cherries before serving.

Tips of the day
While storing the excess dough in the refrigerator coat it with a light layer of ghee or oil. This shall prevent the dough from getting dry.
