Shahi Paneer

A delicious vegetarian dish which is a rich preparation made of Paneer.

Ingredients

Paneer 250 gms


Ghee or butter 3 tbsp


Onion chopped into strips 1


Ginger chopped 1/2" piece


Green chillies chopped 2


Tomatoes chopped 4


Cardamoms crushed 2


Beaten curd 1/4 cup


Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp


Garam masala 1/2 tsp


Salt to taste


Milk 1/2 cup


Tomato sauce 2 tbsp





To garnish:


Grated paneer 2 tbsp


Chopped coriander 1 tbsp


Directions

Chop the paneer into 2" fingers.

Heat half the ghee. Add onion,ginger, green chilli and cardamom. Fry for 3-4 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook for 8 minutes, covered. Add curd and cook for 5 minutes. Add 1/2 cup water and cool.Blend in a mixie till smooth.

Heat remaining ghee, add gravy and other ingredients except milk and paneer. Boil to get a very thick gravy. Just before serving, heat gravy, add milk and paneer fingers and boil for 3-4 minutes.

Garnish with chopped coriander and grated paneer.

One suggestion,finally add some cream to get the richness.

Tips of the day
Lemon juice when added to fruit like apples, bananas after cutting, and tossed lightly will prevent them from turning blackish immediately.
