Ingredients

Sesame seeds 2 cups

Jaggery 3/4 cup

Ghee as required

Directions

Roast the sesame seeds in a dry pan over medium heat. Stir continuously, and roast until they start to burst.Remove and spread them on a large plate.

In another heavy vessel, make syrup out of jaggery, by heating it with a 3/4 tbsps of water, and cook over medium heat to make a thick syrup. To check the right consistency, drop half a spoonful of the syrup into a cup of cold water, it will form a soft ball. Add the toasted sesame seeds to the syrup, and stir well. Let it cool down a little.

When the temperature cools down to a state where the hand can withstand the heat, grease a little ghee on the palm of your hand, pick up a handful of the mixture and make small even sized balls using the hand. Repeat with the remaining mixture.

Store the it in airtight containers.
