Ingredients

Gram dal heated in a vessel and ground to the texture of rava 1 cup
Roasted rice ground to the consistency of rava 1 cup
Jaggery 1/4kg
Water 1/2 cup
Ghee 2 teaspoons
Cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon
Roasted gingelly 2 dessert spoons
Rice flour 1/2 cup
Water to attain required consistency
Salt to taste


Directions

Heat the brown sugar with the 1/2 cup of water and strain it. Ghee is added to it. It is then taken off the stove and gram dal, rice flour and cardamom powder are added to it followed by the roasted gingelly. Make small marble sized balls and arrange on a plate.

Mix a batter of rice flour and salt by adding water carefully to a Dosai maavu consistency.

Heat oil ina pan on a medium heat.Dip the marble sized balls in the rice flour batter.Deep fry one by one till golden brown. Remove and put on a newspaper to remove excess oil.When cold keep in a airtight tin.
