Prawns Peera

Ingredients

Prawns 1 lb
Onion half of one
Grated coconut - 1 cup
Ginger 1" piece
Garlic 3
Green chillies 5
Chilly powder 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves a few
Fish Tamarind 3 pieces
Salt as required


Directions

Clean and cut the prawns in 2-3 pieces depending on its size. Crush coconut with ginger, green chillies and garlic. Mix prawn and crushed coconut mix with all the powders, fish tamarind (kudampuli), curryleaves, sliced onions, salt and little water. Mix it well. Allow for it to boil and keep it in low flame till it gets cooked and partially dry.

Tips of the day
Leftover chappathies can be cut into small diamond shaped pieces with a pair of kitchen scissors and deep fried till golden brown. Store in air-tight containers.
