Ingredients

Milk 1/2 litre


Sugar 100 gm


Butter 50 gm


Vanilla custard powder 2 tsp


Few drops of vanilla essence


Directions

Mix custard powder and cold milk to make a paste and keep aside. Boil milk in a vessel.Then lower the flame and add the custard paste slowly and stir well till it thickens. Add butter. If you like you can add more butter to make it more creamy. Take it off from the stove and cool immediately under fan. Stir it. Then add the essence. Keep it in the refrigerator for few hours.

Tips of the day
Add a few drops of lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon of ghee while steaming basmati rice to make it whiter and keep the rice unbroken.
