Prawn Vada

Crispy fried prawns dumpling flavoured with onion, ginger and curry leaves .

Ingredients

Prawns(medium sized) - 1/2 kg

Coconut greated - 1/2 cup

Small onions - 8

Green chillies - 4

Ginger - 1 inch piece

Garlic pods - 2

Curry leaves - A few

Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp

Salt - As required

Oil for frying


Directions

Peel the skin, devain and wash the prawns thoroughly.

Mix with all the other ingredients and grind coarsely on grinding stone or mixi.

Make small balls off this mixture.

Flatten it a little like vada and deep fry in oil.

When cooked, take out from oil when it is golden brown in color and slightly crisp.

Serve it as a good side dish with rice or as an evening snacks with ketchup.

For retaining the green color of palak while cooking, put some salt while boling it .
