Jackfruit and rice flour dumplings filled with a mixture of coconut and jaggery.

Ingredients

Rice Flour - 1 cup

Jackfruit / Chakka Varatti - 1 cup

Boiled water - enough to make a dough

Oil - 1 tsp



For the Filling:-

Grated coconut - 1 cup

Crushed Jaggery - 1/4 cup

Cardamom powder - a pinch


Directions

Mix together rice flour , oil and chakka varatti, and add hot water little by little until a smooth dough is formed. Let it cool down to a bearable temperature. Now knead the dough well, without any lumps. Divide the dough into lemon sized dumplings and keep it aside.

For the Filling: Mix grated coconut, cardamom and jaggery together.

Take a dumpling and flatten it thin with your hands and fill it with a spoon of stuffings, close it and shape it again to make a ball. Repeat the same with all the dumplings. Then arrange them neatly in an iddli cooker or steamer and steam it until it is done.

Tips of the day
To keep celery fresh for long time, wrap it in aluminum foil and place in the refrigerator.
