Cabbage with Peas
Ingredients
4 cups of cabbage
1 1/4 cup peas
2 tbs oil
1/2 tsp ginger paste
Pinch of asafetida
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp urad dal
1/2 tsp chana dal
3 green chilis
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 cup shredded coconut
Salt as required
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Curry leaves a few
Directions
Slice cabbage into fine long shreds and discard the stalk and thick stems.
Heat the oil on medium high in a pan. Add urad dal, chana dal, asafetida, cumin seeds, curry leaves and mustard seeds. After seeds crack and dals turn to brown add green peas and green chilies half the way slit. Stir for a few seconds. Add the cabbage, turmeric, and salt. Mix well. Cover the pan and let it cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes until the cabbage is tender. Occasionally stir it. Add shredded coconut and mix well. Turn the heat off when done. Add coriander leaves. Serve hot.
