Spinach Kootu
Ingredients
Fresh spinach 1 pack
Moong Dal 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder a pinch
Grated coconut 6 tsp
Rasam powder 1 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Red chillies 2
Salt as needed
Ghee/Oil as required
Directions
Finely chop spinach. Pressure cook spinach and Moong dal together.
Meanwhile grind the rasam powder and grated coconut to a smooth paste and keep aside.
Heat ghee/oil in a vessel. Add the mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add the cumin seeds and red chillies and fry for a minute. Add the cooked spinach and dal mixture. Add salt and turmeric powder. Let it cook for a while. Stir in regular intervals and tasty kootu is ready.
