Corn Flour Puttu

Ingredients

Cornflour - 1 cup
Rice Flour (optional) - 1 cup
Coconut shredded - 1 cup
Salt to taste
Enough water to moisten the flour


Directions

Mix the rice flour and the cornflour together.

Mix salt in water and add the water little by little to the flours and mix it. Keep mixing till the flour starts looking like crumbs. Let the moistened rice powder rest for about 10 minutes.

Put the flour to the puttu maker adding shredded coconut in between. Do not press the flour down into the puttu maker. If so the puttu will not cook prperly since there is no place for the steam to get through the puttu.

Boil water in the pot under the cylinder and place the puttu maker and cook over steam.

Tips of the day
For retaining the green color of palak while cooking, put some salt while boling it .
