Masala Kadala/Peanut

Ingredients

Peanuts - 1 cup
Gram flour - 1/4 cup
Rice flour - 3 tspn
Asafoetida - 2 pinches
Chili powder - 1 tspn
Salt - to taste
Water - less than 1/4 cup
Curry leaves a few
Oil to fry


Directions

Dry roast the peanuts for about a minute in a pan or microwave them for about a minute. Make a paste of gram flour, red chilly powder, salt and asafoetida .Pour little water to make a thick batter. Slowly add water and mix. Put peanuts into this and mix well until each nut is covered with gram flour mixture.

Heat Oil in a pan. Drop the masala coated peanuts and deep fry till golden brown in medium heat. Make sure that peanuts are separated when you drop them in Oil. Slowly stir this to prevent peanuts to stick together.

Tips of the day
Remove the stems from chilies before storing them, this will keep them fresher for a long time.
