Banana Flower Vada

Deep fried snack which is a combination of banana flower and gram flour .

Ingredients

Finely chopped banana flower - 2 cups

Gram flour - 2 cups

Chopped onion - 2 big

Ginger chopped - 1 inch piece

Finely chopped green chilly - 5 or 6

Chopped curry leaves - few

Chopped coriander leaves - few

Asafoetida - 2 pinch

Salt - add to taste

Oil - for frying


Directions

Mix chopped banana flower, onion, green chilly, curry leaves, coriander leaves, chopped ginger, asafoetida and salt. Add gram flour to the this. Mix along with little amount of water and consistency should be like ordinary vada. Make small balls and give them the shape of vada. Heat oil and deep fry them till it became golden brown.

Serve hot Vazhapoo vada/Banana Flower vada with mint chutney or tomato sauce.

Tips of the day
When sauting onions add a little salt to speed up the process.You will get the desired golden brown colour shortly.
