Semiya Pulihora

Ingredients

Semiya 2 cups
Lemon juice 1/2 cup
Urad dal 2 tsps
Chana dal 2 tsps
Peanuts 3 tsps
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Mustard 1/2 tsp
Turmeric 2 tsp
Curry leaves a few
Asafoetida a pinch
Red chillies 4
Oil 1/2 cup
Salt to taste


Directions

Boil 4 cups of water, by adding 2 tsps of oil and 1 tsp of turmeric. When it gets to boil, add semiya to that and let it cook. When it gets to cook, remove it from heat and strain it through a seive immediately by pouring cold water on it. This makes semiya non sticky.

Heat oil, add urad dal, chana dal, cumin seeds, mustard, red chillies, a pinch of asafoetida and peanuts and fry. Add curry leaves and lemon juice to this. Remove this when they are fried. Add turmeric, salt to the above. Mix semiya to this and eat.

Tips of the day
To remove smell from fish, rub it with salt and vinegar. Leave it for an hour and wash it thoroughly.
