Raddish Kootu

Ingredients

Cut raddish 2 cups
Cut onion 1 cup
Cut tomato 1 cup
Coconut grated 1 cup
Turmeric powder a pinch
Mustard 1 tsp
Urad dal 1 tsp
Red chillies 3
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Channa dal 1 tbsp
Curry leaves a few
Coriander leaves a few
Cumin seeds 1 tsp


Directions

Fry red chillies, coriander, channa dal and cumin seeds in little oil till it is brown and then grind nicely. Grind coconut nicely separately or together with the fried ingredients.

In a vessel cook onion, tomato, raddish with salt and turmeric powder. Once done, add the coconut paste and boil.

Heat oil in another pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves and fry till urad dal turns it color. Pour it to above curry. Add coriander leaves and mix well.

It goes with roti and rice.

Tips of the day
For retaining the green color of palak while cooking, put some salt while boling it .
