Ingredients

Rice flour 2 cups
Grated Coconut 1/2 cup
Water 1/2 cup
Salt as per taste
Oil as required


Directions

Add salt to the Puttu powder. Sprinkle water on it till moist. Spread little coconut to the bottom of the puttu vessel. Spread moist puttu powder over it followed by coconut topping. Continue 2/3 layers and end it with coconut at the top. Cover it with the lid and steam it until strong steam comes out through the holes of the lid.

Best if served with Chana dal curry, green peas curry, green gram curry or banana.

Tips of the day
Add a few drops of lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon of ghee while steaming basmati rice to make it whiter and keep the rice unbroken.
