Mushroom Biriyani

Ingredients

Mushroom 300 gm
Basmati rice 1 cup
Green chillies 4
Onion 2
Tomatoes 2
Cloves 6
Cardamom 5
Bay leaves 1
Cinnamon stick 2
Red chilly powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Cilantro leaves 1/2 cup
Garlic ginger paste 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Ghee 3tsp


Directions

Wash and soak rice for 10 minutes.Wash and clean mushroom and cut it in to half.Heat ghee in pressure cooker.Add clove,cardamom,bay leaves and cinnamon.When it turns colour add onion and fry till golden brown.Then add green chilly ,ginger garlic paste and tomato and fry well.Add redchilly powder,turmeric powder and garam masala.Then add coriander leaves and mushroom and mix well.Add rice and fry for a while.Add 2 cup boiling water and enough salt.Cover the lid and pressure cook for 10-12 minutes in low flame. Garnish it with coriander leaves.

Note:Add a handful of kasoor methi leaves will give a good taste and smell for the biriyani.

Tips of the day
To make bittergourd less bitter, soak the sliced bitter gourd pieces in a little buttermilk with a pinch of turmeric powder and salt.
