Sponge Cake

Ingredients

All purpose flour 1 cup
Sugar 1/2 cup
Butter 4 tbsp
Egg 2
Baking powder 1 tsp
Vanila Essence 1/4 tsp


Directions

Sieve flour and baking powder together. Take sugar and butter in a deep bowl and mix both thoroughly with a ladle. Break the eggs into the mixture and stir again till the ingredients blend well. Add essence, then add the flour and stir slowly to make a smooth, soft batter.(A tablespoon of milk may be added if the batter looks thick).Pour the batter into a buttered oven-proof bowl and bake in the microwave oven for 4 minutes at high. Allow a standing time of 5 minutes.
